Can I use liquid eyeliner as eyeshadow?

I can't find a good black eyeshadow that is really dark. Could I use my liquid eyeliner for it and will it smudge or smear?Can I use liquid eyeliner as eyeshadow?
I'm not sure how that would look, but try it out.





I've actually used eyeliner before (it wasn't exactly liquid, more of a creamy texture...it was MAC fluidline eyeliner) sort of as a primer, and a black eyeshadow on top of it and it gave me a nice matte look that was basically as black as you can get. WITHOUT looking too harsh.

Be sure when using dark colors like that, that you blend where however far you've taken it out to, is...so that there isn't a harsh line where your eyeshadow stops and skin begins.Can I use liquid eyeliner as eyeshadow?
Okay this could turn out to be either 1 of 2 things horrific, or beautiful. I recommend if you want a great black eyeshadow and you want to use your liquid eyeliner, you should pant a little on the back of your hand (enough so that it wont dry right away) next take a small goat or sable hair eyeshadow brush, rub in some of the pigment, and apply it like a cream shadow. start with a little and gradually blend more in, until you get the desired effect. If you dont have a shadow brush you can buy nice goat or sable ones at Sephora or any drug store, (the drug store ones are kind of cheap though) the cool thing about most liquid liners is that they dont smear unless exposed to moisture, if your eyes are oily, this could pose a potential threat. if not you should be fine. I dont recommend trying this technique the night of an event, this is something tthat should be practiced as its not something that just happens right away. I woldnt do that. It might flake off since it woudl be on your crease also. You can try it one night when you stay in the house to see how it goes. I would get an eye shadow primer, bare escentuals have a good one, benefit has one. Then get a highly pigmented eye shadow like MAC or one from L'oreals HIP line. The eyeshadows from Bare Escentuals pop when you use them wet. You can go in there and find the black shadow and ask them for a sample. You can also tell them to apply the black shadow wet so you can see what it would look like. Good luck!!!!
i've done that one time. i dont think it would work out well if it's the waterproof kinds that end up hardening a little and dries shiny. it would probably start cracking. but if it's the kinds with the felt tip, it would probably work. not sure if it'll start running off or not.





And what JJ613 said. Go with Loreal HIP Cream Liner. They last long too!! The brush is kinda harsh though, so use your own eyeliner brush or buy a good one.
i dont recommend that, liquid eyeliner dries up very fast so by the time u blend it all in ur eyelid, it will dry up. use the CREME LINERS like, Loreal has an eyeliner creme called HIP Black creme liner and that can be used as an eyeshadow or liner....

it always depends what kind of eyeshadow you will use.
Is this for a Halloween costume? Liquid eyeliner over your entire eye would look horrible! Why do you need such dark eyeshadow? Look for dark grays and/or purples.
I like Loreal's Wear Infinite in Lush Raven. It's pretty dark black.





Don't use eyeliner. It will look caked on.

go to your local drugstore and ask for the darkest eyeshadow they have and then just get that instead.
no you cant. you'll just look like elvira on crack.. you can consider a gel like stila's smudge pot though
umm wow ok well if you want to use liquid eyeliner for halloween i think yea u can.. but if not and just for normal use.. no!! use mac eyeshadow its great
