What can I put on my eyelids so my eyeliner doesn't smudge?

I have a problem with my eyeliner always smearing over my eyelids. I was told my eyelids are probabbly oily. I use expensive products so it is not because it is cheap I have tried eye shadow but that dosen't work the best. Any sugestions?What can I put on my eyelids so my eyeliner doesn't smudge?
Put on your foundation, but don't powder the area around your eyes, eye lids and under brows. Apply your liner and any other eye makeup. Use a matching shadow and apply it with a thin, flat angled brush right onto where the liner is drawn. Use a translucent powder to 'set' your makeup in place (even your mascara; then re-coat your lashes for a final time with mascara). Urban Decay's Primer Potion this is the best stuff and its not all that expensive.

i have the same problem and someone suggested Urban Decay Primer. It's not an eyeliner sealant but they say it works like one when you put it on before your eyeliner.





I've read that the BeneFit SheLaq looks and feels plasticky although it does keep the eyeliner in place.





i plan on trying the Urban Decay when i can afford to.

First, dust your eyelids with a translucent powder. Then use a semi-permanent eyeliner, like Styli-Style. The Styli-Style eyeliner formula will hold up to the natural oils around your eyes, unlike regular waterproof eyeliners. Then dust more powder over your eyeliner to set it.


* For the powder, I would use Sally Hansen CornSilk loose powder. It really mattifies the skin and makes the perfect canvas for eye makeup. You can get it and the eyeliner at almost any drugstore, and they're both under $10.

Hmm.. why not try an eyeshadow base? :) it's good for eyeliner as well. Like urban decay's primer potion which is clear so it won't alter the liner or make you look like you have eyeshadow on. Also, what kind of eyeliner are you using? It's not so much about expensive or not, it's more about the type. If it's a kohl pencil, those are softer and usually smudgy and meant for a more smokey line so that could be why too, if you have oily lids, a powder shadow would be best for you or you can go over your pencil liner with some powder shadow to set it. There's also gel liners which have better staying powder and go on nice and smooth and easy to apply like MAC's fluidline. Also a waterproof liquid liner would be good like MAC's liquid last but I know liquid can be time consuming and a mess. Hope this helps :)

Consider yourself lucky! People that have oily skin seem to age slower. As far as the eyeliner goes, I have a couple of suggestions.





First, try waterproof eyeliner. Maybelline has a liquid eye liner with a felt tip that is waterproof. Sometimes liquids are harder to apply, but with a little practice you can get nice results. I dab some of the eyeliner on to a tissue before appling so it's easier to contol.





If your eyes are sensitive and you feel that waterproof would be too harsh for you, try visiting MAC cosmetics. MAC offers a line of professional products that will help you makeup stay in place.
