My husband (a tattooist that was also trained in cosmetic tattooing and aesthetics) did my eyeliner a couple of years ago.
Permanent cosmetics are only ';semi-permanent';. Over time they fade with the repeated and constant shedding of your skin. If you go to someone that's been trained correctly in cosmetic tattooing, they will numb you topically before making the first pass (so that it doesn't hurt). Once a fresh line has been made, they will put a different numbing agent on the area so that the entire thing is completely painless.
A trained aesthetician will also use different tattooing inks for permanent cosmetics (there should be no primary colors in their inks). They will also be able to color match (like any makeup artist) for an ink color that will be complimentary to your skin tone (there are numerous shades of even black and brown to match to in neutral, warm, and cool tones).
The procedure is painless (a little irritating, but not painful) and the machine has needles that are shallow set, so there's no way possible to go through the lid into the eye (if that's what you're worried about).
I got a warm black/brown shade called ';Licorice';, that's literally the color that dark licorice is. I'm still able to change my liner when I want by putting other liner over it whenever I please, but on the days I just want simple and classic, I've already got my makeup halfway done.
It generally takes a few years for it to fade, and it's not completely gone, it just becomes lighter. Every few years, you should get it touched up to keep it dark.
Most people also know someone that's had ';blue'; or ';purple'; brows or liner - most of the time it's because they've gone to someone inexperienced or that didn't realize they needed specific inks for cosmetic tattooing (ink that will be exposed to sunlight, UV, and the elements at all times). Regular tattoo inks are what causes those colors - so MAKE SURE they're using the cosmetic inks, as I've mentioned above.
Here's more info from the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals - http://www.spcp.org/Publcnfo.htmHas any one had permanent eyeliner applied? Do you like the results? What color did you get? Painful?
I have not had that procedure done , but I have had tattoos and it's the same process so yes, it would be painful!! Needles applied to your inner eye lids - ouch!Has any one had permanent eyeliner applied? Do you like the results? What color did you get? Painful?
You mean like tattooed on? I didn't know that was possible!
do it! just go to a place with a good reputation and professional people and please DO NOT GET IT TOO THICK. it will look trashy and you will regret it!
i know girls that have gotten it and they said it did hurt but it wasn't that unbearable and they got over it pretty quickly. they got a very dark brown or black thin line and it looks awesome!
its very painfull and i cried for three weeks
My mom has. She said it was a little painful, but it's bearable. She had it done in a brownish black color, and it looks pretty natural. It's lasted about four years so far. It does fade though, so it's up to you if you decide to do it again or to just apply eyeliner normally.
%26lt;My mom has had it done so has many of her friends and other family members%26gt;
I think she said it was painful
She has like a blue-ish color but it really works on her
I like the results on her and she says it saves time lol
Please don' t there are many negatives to it. First of all, its a tattoo on your eye.... painful. If you ever want it off you can't. Lastly, when you are older... you'll regret it, it wont look good. You never know when anything will come out of style. There are many alternatives, just apply eyeliner everyday. If you do end up getting it my advice to you is go black, not overly black though. Do not get any color they don't look good and they don't match everything like black does. Also, black is the most common and it wont look unusual. Good Luck :D
No but Luckily there are now many products the permanent makeup technician can use that will reduce the pain of any and all procedures.
my mom has. she went down to Mexico to get it done. it looks natural, because she got a dark brown color, and she didn't get it too thick. it's fading though. she says it's painful, but bearable.
i would assume its painful but you do realise that if anything at all went wrong (e.g.) you blinked when they were putting the dye in your eyelid! you would have a permanant wonky line! or if you dont like the way they do it, you would be stuck with it for ever! and when you get older, your face will wrinkle and you skin would stretch so you'd end up with possible gaps in the line due to streatching!
if you wanted to try it out i've heard you can get like henna eyeliner which would last a few weeks and would be brown coloured. try that first
thats awsum? u can do that? that wood save time.. but no i havent!
i'm thinking about getting it. I'll get black just in case i ever change my mind about the color. i heard that it hurts :[
Just gonna say;
No. Please never do it.
It looks very drag-queenish. There are a million adorable ways to do makeup and you will be permanently stuck with a thick dark line around your eyes. It is impossible to cover up.
When you get older, the tattoo will be on your face and draw more attention to your aging skin because it will age with it. Looks terrible.
Um, I no i'm probably bein weird answerin n stuff, but maybe, like, u shouldn't get that stuff.
permanent eyeliner? i didnt even kno ther was such fing!! i must be livin in anova world :)
its like getting a tattoo. i dunno. im a guy.
why would you ever do that?
doesn't hurt. lasts a long time. a couple years. I was kinda afraid to have it be to dark so after it was all done I wished it was thicker and darker. I found it to be great for summer time. I also had my eye lashes dyed. good luck with that.
my mom has her eyes tattoed
she has had for i think at least 7 yrs..
she is happy with it..she got it black..but after a while it starts looking navy blue so what she does ever few years she gets it re-done. the good thing about it is that she doesnt have to apply it every morning and it looks good on her..but the eyeliner doesnt go past the end of her eye lid..the first time she got it done it was painful and it even bruised a little but it will go away after a while..it still hurts her wen she gets it dine but less...she has sensitive skin so it still bruises a little
i think if you really want to get it done you should
and anyway it will start to fade after a while so if you dont like it you dont have to get it re-done
